KW Legacy is proud to announce the extension of its partnership with Saint Mary’s University (SMU) in Halifax, Nova Scotia, offering two local students the opportunity to earn $48,000 scholarships to SMU.
Over the past years, KW Legacy has raised more than $1.2 million and awarded 116 post‑secondary scholarships to local students. Continuing that work, KW Legacy will administer the award and identify qualified candidates from across Waterloo Region.
Building on a successful collaboration
KW Legacy and SMU first partnered to award scholarships to Grace Ford‑Smuck (Bluevale Collegiate) and Mikayla Sloat (Cameron Heights Collegiate). With this announcement, both organizations have entered into an extended three‑year partnership to continue supporting exceptional students from the region.
“Saint Mary’s University is proud to extend our partnership with KW Legacy for another three years, a reflection of the strength of this collaboration and the outstanding calibre of students from the Waterloo region,” said Dan Seneker, assistant vice‑president, enrolment and registrar for SMU. “Through this partnership, we are not only supporting exceptional young leaders, but also reinforcing our commitment to providing a world‑class student experience. We look forward to welcoming even more talented KW Legacy scholarship recipients to our vibrant campus community and continuing to be a destination of choice for students from across Canada.”
Who can apply
The scholarship is open to graduating students from all school boards across Waterloo Region and offers a life‑changing path to post‑secondary education on Canada’s East Coast.
